Who We Are
Almost 20 years ago, three guys were working together making feed, consulting with dairy and beef operations (and a horse operation or two) and gradually building a feed business. Then they got a call one day from the company they were working for telling them the mill was being shut down. They were making good money but just not enough to satisfy the bean counters.
So after a day or two of griping and hand wringing and trying to figure out what they would tell the customers (a lot of them) they had an idea. They would take the bull by the horns and do this themselves. But without a mill and trucks this might be a little difficult. So they got on the phone and called some folks they knew in the feed business in Northeast Texas and before they knew it, the business was up and rolling, before the original company had even shut down. And so, ABC Nutrition Service, Inc. was born.
Originally there were three: A feed mill manager/commodity broker who specialized in salvaged feed products and ingredients not many people knew what to do with, a beef and dairy nutritionist with a knack for dealing with the ingredients the first partner came up with and finally a feed sales professional who was also a cattle breeder. Along the line the feed sales guy went on to pursue different interests but the business never skipped a beat.
Today ABC’s business remains the same as it always has; focused on the producer and his needs and bringing solutions often from “outside of the box.” Over the years ABC has developed into a sound company with excellent, strategic business partnerships and relationships again, focused on meeting the needs of the producer and providing efficient, cost effective solutions to the problems the cattle producer faces every day.
